Host plants support the larvae of pollinators. In adult form, pollinators can feed on a wide variety of plants. But many insects only lay eggs on a few specific species of plants, their host plants. These host plants are critical to a healthy and diverse ecosystem.

We rely on sources such as the Xerces Society and the UC Berkeley Urban Bee Lab for plant lists that are pollinator-friendly and regionally appropriate for the Bay Area.

We donate plants to any group doing restoration or planting work in the Bay Area, especially on public or protected land.

Yes! We sell our plants at very reasonable prices to individuals. Your purchase helps support Urban Habitat Project’s day-to-day operations and our mission of improving the urban ecology of the East Bay.
